Who needs a Hair Cut?

Add another skill to my resume. I can cut hair. Okay, so not really. I can shave someone's hair off. I realize that shaving a head isn't really a skill, but I had a really hard time doing it so its a skill. I didn't get this skill by choice, I was pressured into it. Jamon refused to cut his hair until I did it. And It was getting pretty long. I blame all Jamon's fabulous sister's in-law, who are the best wife's and cut their husbands hair, you have set the bar high. Not that this isn't a great money savor, but I have a mother, sister and a sister in-law who went to school so they can cut hair as a profession. So why do I need to learn. I always think I can do it because it looks easy, but when that razor starts to vibrate in my hand I lose all my senses and start to panic. So with my teacher at my side and my family watching I shaved his head. It was probably the longest shaving he's had, and I've noticed a few places that I missed. No one else would notice, but becuase I have this need to have all things I touch be perfect, I notice. So I've come to a conclusion about Jamon's hair. I will shave it but not style it. No blending it in, or using scissors. So you might be seeing alot of Jamon with a shaved head. He looks good though!!

My first cut. Looks good!

Look at that concentration on my face. This is intense.

This is Bonnie, my teacher and sister in-law. I looked so worried.

Good job Staci! You'll be a pro before you know it. Cameron made me cut his hair when we were dating and I didn't have a clue what I was doing! 10 years and about 100 haircuts later (if you include all my boys) I am pretty good at it. Practice makes perfect. It does save money and justifies me spending the dough to get MY hair done!

Wow Staci! You are brave. I tried to cut Mike's hair once and I had to call my neighbor to fix it. I just don't think it is one of my talents. You did great though!

Yes, Daron did that to me too when we were dating. I have had lots more practice, but I still make major mistakes. For example: the night before he entered the Police Academy, I gave him a hair cut that left his hairline at about the middle of his ears. That is pretty high. He is a good sport and would rather have a bad hair cut then pay any dollar amount for someone else to cut it. Your a good sport!

I think that I've gotten worse at the haircut thing. Weston is constantly flinching nowadays. But I think we need new buzzers. And yeah, buzzing is pretty much the best haircut I give for sure. Way to go! He looks really good.
And, hey, awesome job at running the 10k! You da woman!

GOOD JOB STACI! I should probably do that for Jason, but he cuts his own hair bent over a towel, then I try to fix the back for him...it is a great money saver.

You are a good sport. Mark did the same thing when we were dating.

Of all of the hair cuts I've given to the boys, I only remember a couple of flops. Poor Cameron, one time I had to take him to my friend's so she could repair the 'damage' I had done! Or the time I had to "fix" Weston's "reverse mohawk" from when he tried to cut his own hair. The only way I could fix it was to shave his head. (This was two weeks prior to his entering the MTC.)

Girls (Jamee, Carrie, Natalie, and Tia) What's the deal with the Andelin boys "making" the girls in their lives cut there hair. Jamon used the line all my brothers wives do it, so I want you to do it, little did I know that you all probably got a similar line in some way. Maybe we should all be teaching them to cut their own hair like my brother!

hm, the things i am learning about my family from these blogs, i bet my dad wanted my mom to cut his hair because his mom cut his hair while growing up. The real question is when did this tradition in the Andelin family start, with my grandpa, great grandpa? I guess we'll never know.
