Happy, Happy, Birthday

(Let me start out by saying I’ve had a heck of a time getting Asher’s One year and Birthday posts published.  I finally figure it out and then I delete the Birthday Party Post. Drive me Crazy.  So here is the third draft of this post.)

Asher woke up on his Birthday June 6th to Helium Balloons floating around the house.  His face was in awe at this sight.  He would’ve been fine if that’s all I did for him.  He Loved them.  We didn’t stop there though.  I made him a yummy breakfast consisting of waffles and strawberries, minus the cool whip and syrup (I’m not ready for him to know that yummy-ness yet).  We were having his party the next day so we didn’t do much else on his actual birthday, except go to the park and play outside.

                      

Asher’s party guests consisted of Aunt Jodee, Uncle Bryce, Uncle Ammon, Aunt Leslie, Jaxon and Tess. I have no pictures of the guests except these two cuties.

We ate pizza, played in the sandbox, and played with bubbles.

I have no idea why I don’t have any picture of Asher during these activities.

 

Then it was present time.

Asher didn’t do that bad opening his presents.

This is all he wanted to do with the boxes. 

Even the next day when I put the airport together he still only wanted to stand on the box.

Liam and Jaxon could barely contain themselves.  So I finally let them help with the last gift.

 

Now for the Cake 

I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out, except that I did the writing as I was taking it out to Asher, so it looks real bad.  Jodee helped ice it and made the cars…she’s incredible.

This is the only picture I got with Asher and the lit candle. His hand is on its way to put out the flame. No blowing for this kid.

Asher did not disappoint with the eating and destroying of the cake.

First he just dipped his fingers in

Then he enjoyed a little more

Then he got serious.

Then total destruction

and the cake was no more.

 This is all that was left of the cake.

This was the adult cake.  Caramel Frosting around and through the cake along with caramel sauce. 

Yes, it was SUPER sweet, but oh so yummy!

 

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ASHER!

Asher Turns One

Well it happened. Asher is one. His first year all happened so fast. I don’t know why I’m still amazed about how fast it goes.

Asher’s 12 month Stats:

• Weight: 21lbs 50th percentile
• Height: 30in 45th percentile
• Head: 46.7 cm 70th percentile

• He walks. Walking is not his main way of getting around though, the bear crawl is. (since writing this post yesterday walking has become his main way of getting around)
• Says mama and dada
• Eats everything that we give him, even things we don’t like sand and other things that will just completely gross you out.

• May have a sensitivity to Dairy, but its nothing to worry about so far.
• Favorite toy is a car. He will even make a car sound
• Next favorite “toy” all the plastic cups, plates and bowls. They are everywhere, everyday.
• Pushes anything that will move across the floor.

• Likes to dance
• Is showing the beginning signs of tantruming. Oh help.
• Has his two bottom tooth and one top tooth that are all in. The other top tooth just poked through along with two more bottom ones. He looks kind of hillbilly-ish.
• Likes to look through books

• No longer takes a pacifier or bottle.
• Goes down the slide by himself, I do still catch him at the bottom.
• Loves to swim
• Likes to play with the screen door when it’s open. He will stay there forever and just hang on it and go up and down the top stair. Entertains him for hours.
• Wants the toilet so, SO bad.

• Has the cutest giggle. He laughs when he is excited.
• Still is always happy and has a smile for anyone. More people talk to me about his smile and how happy he is than anything else. They always look at him and say “Yup, still smiling.”

Dear Asher, Never, ever stop smiling!

Jamon had a Birthday

His day began by waking up with Asher.  He changed and gave him a bottle.  Then Liam woke up and he took care of him and gave both boys breakfast and tried to keep them happy.  Then he put Asher down for a nap, gave Liam a bath, worked on his Lesson for Elder’s Quorum, and then played with the boys.  Where was I you ask?  I had a 7:00 meeting and then a 9:00 meeting.  I felt so bad all morning that he was home on his birthday being a single Dad.  I love him for not complaining and just going with the flow.  I could learn to be like him more.

Since his birthday was on Sunday we decided to celebrate on Saturday.

I made him waffles and strawberries for Breakfast (since yesterday was fast Sunday).  That evening we went to Dinner at Bombay House (so yummy) with cousin David and Katya, and good friend Dave McMullin.  After we went back to our house where Ammon and Leslie joined us.  We ate cake, played and mostly talked.

Liam was very excited for cake.

I just had to share these picture.  I took these trying to entertain Asher and to keep him from playing with the camera.  I think he’s cute.

I was so nervous to get it for him, but he LOVES it.  The list of ways he’s going to use it is already long. Hopefully with his busy work schedule this week he will find a time to use it.

Take me out to the Ball Game

For Memorial day we ended up going up to my Brother Adam’s house, eating Pizza and playing Baseball.  We played 5 on 5, and didn’t keep score. So fun!  It’s been years since I’ve played.  I miss it so much.  Anyone want to join a team with me?

True to my motherly self I really only took pictures of my kids.

Liam was quite excited.  I love that he will smile when I point the camera at him.  He’s learned well.

It was a great day for Baseball.

Splishing, Splashing, and Dunking

We have some good friends in our ward that are moving.  We are sad. He has been Jamon’s first counselor for over 2 years and she was my visiting teacher when we moved in and then we became VT companions and have been for 2 years. So we had a we will miss you party.  We went to a neighbors house that have a pool in their back yard. A way nice pool and way nice yard.

I tried so hard to get the boys looking at me, I guess I should’ve tried hard to get Jamon to look too.

 

Liam was very excited.  He wanted to jump in first thing.

 Jamon did a lot of this with Liam. 

He LOVED it. 

Jamon even threw him up and didn’t catch him a few times to see what Liam would do. 

I think this made Jamon more nervous than Liam.

 

This was Asher’s first time swimming.

He liked it, but wasn’t too sure what to think.  This is the only smile I could get.

He got out, I warmed him up, and then he wanted back in.

And this was the smile he gave me. Even after this…

Jamon missed him on the way back down, but that didn’t stop him from loving it.

We expect many swim days ahead.

11 months

“Baby Ash” is 11 months old. How can this be?

Asher’s 11 months:

• took his first steps, up to three at a time. Very exciting
• stands himself up without holding on to anything.
• one of his top teeth FINALLY cut through, the other is so close along with the next set…Grumpy baby.
• loves to dance.

• has started climbing up on things.
• likes to give me kisses. It actually feels more like he’s mauling my face. Drool everywhere.
• loves to swing
• went down the slide for the first time and loved it.
• hates wearing shoes…or they are just fun to take off and chew on.
• makes a funny throat noise. Kind of like a hiss, but harsher. It’s hard to explain, but her really does it all the time.
• Can’t sit still.  This kid has to be moving. Church is not fun.

We sure do love this kid.  He makes us so Happy.  

I had to put this picture on here (sorry Asher). I don’t know why he was crying, maybe because it was raining or because I wouldn’t let him hold onto me. Either way sad, but funny…and cute.
